| Coverlay Manufacturing, Inc. began in Denver, Colorado in 1982 and incorporated as Import Auto Products, Ltd. (a Colorado corporation). They originally set out to import after market auto body parts from Taiwan and Italy and sell them to body shops in the Denver area. In November 1983, they went to the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) Trade Show in Las Vegas as exhibitors. They displayed their first twelve dash covers with pride. The response was overwhelming! In 1992, Coverlay needed more space and a centralized location and Import Auto Products, Ltd. moved to its present location in San Angelo, Texas. Since then the trademark Coverlay is now recognized throughout the automotive industry. They officially changed their name to Coverlay Manufacturing, Inc. in 1994. Their mission continues to be to supply the consumer with a quality product at the lowest possible price. |
