Changing Brake Pads - Brembo, Balo, ATE, EBC, AEM, Power Slot
Changing Brake Pads - Cars and Trucks
Changing brake pads yourself is not that hard of a job. You will need some tools to complete the job at home. Jack stands will help make the job safer and easier for you. These help by having the car on a secure raised metal stand so you can remove the wheels and have the car in the air. You will also need something to compress the brake caliper after you take off the old brake pads. You may use c-clamp vise grip pliers for this. Make sure all brake hoses are examined for cracked or frayed areas also. Replace them if needed or your not sure. Brake rotors must be inspected for wear. Worn brake rotors (or discs) must be replaced or turned to ensure the new brake pads perform and wear properly. You will also want to apply brake quiet to the metal side of the new brake pads. This will help keep the brakes quiet. Some name brand manufactures include: Brembo, Pagid, Balo, ATE, EBC, AEM, Powerstop and Power Slot brakes.
